I have created this page to talk to you about the Bowflex Adjustable Dumbbells. These are probably the most popular adjustable dumbbells on the market, but you should know that there are other good adjustable dumbbells as well. Regardless, let's get to discussing the two available types of Bowflex Dumbbells that are available.

1) Introduction To Short Reviews: These short reviews will give you an idea of what each adjustable dumbbell is about. I will post some of the features of the dumbbells, the rating they received on Amazon, along with my opinion. 1a) Bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumbbells:

These are the original adjustable dumbbells that Bowflex introduced. Weight can easily be adjusted with a dial, in 2.5 pound increments. Weight ranges from 2.5 pounds to 52.5 pounds. (Which I honestly found a little weird.) Another feature includes the 5 year warranty on the plates and the 2 year warranty on the parts. Based off of 142 reviews, these dumbbells received an average 4 out of 5 star rating.

This is a great set of dumbbells. I have personally tested these and enjoyed the ease of adjusting the weight with the dial. One problem that I did come across was the width of the dumbbells. If you have a small from, performing exercises may be difficult. I highly recommend checking these out at your local store before purchasing. Some people will like these dumbbells and some won't. 1b) Bowflex SelectTech 1090:

Another great option is the 90 pound Bowflex adjustable dumbbells. With these dumbbells, you can adjust your weight between 5 and 90 pounds, using 5 pound increments. Changing the weight is as simple as turning the dial. Features include the manufacturers warranty and much more.

This is another great set of dumbbells that I have personally test. Again, these dumbbells are quite large. Based off of 42 reviews on Amazon, these dumbbells received an average 4.5 out of 5 star rating. I can definitely recommend them, but again, if you have a smaller frame, I highly recommend testing before purchasing.

2) Recommendation:

If you're a stronger individual, you will likely outgrow the 552's pretty quickly. In this case, I would automatically go ahead and purchase the Bowflex 1090's. Obviously, the opposite occurs if you're on the weaker side. I do recommend each of these dumbbells, but I highly recommend testing them out before purchasing whichever one you decide to purchase. Again, the grips and the size of these dumbbells can be a little awkward for some people.
