The Powerblock Personal Trainer 50 Pound Adjustable Dumbbells is actually what I own. This product is listed under the 50 Pound Adjustable Dumbbells category. This review is going to be totally unbiased. As a bonus, I have gone ahead and added the video review that I did for this product last month. Before I show you the video, which will be shown shortly, let's discuss the layout of this review.
1) Introduction To Detailed Review: As I have already said, I will be showing a video bonus just after this paragraph. After this bonus, I will discuss the description and features, reviews and ratings, and finally, my personal recommendation.
Bonus Video Review:
1a) Description and Features:
This sleek pair of adjustable dumbbells will look great anywhere. Best of all, they're extremely small, and are even able to fit on some small bookshelves. A stand for the set is also available, but not necessary.
Weight adjustments can be made in increments of 2.5 pounds. The lowest available weight for these dumbbells is 2.5 pounds, and the highest available weight is 50 pounds. A cool little feature is the pounds to kilograms conversion or kilograms to pounds conversion, listed on the front-bottom of each dumbbell.
To select adjust weights, you simply remove the selector pin from the dumbbell, and slide it back in to the weight amount of your liking. Corresponding colors let you know when you're selecting the correct amount of weight.
1b) Reviews and Ratings:
Why am I not surprised? This set of dumbbells actually received extremely high ratings on Amazon. Based off of 14 reviews, this set of dumbbells received an average 4.5 out of 5 star rating, with no rating lower than 4 stars. Customers were extremely satisfied with these dumbbells.
1c) Recommendation:
The Powerblock 50 pound adjustable dumbbells are truly a great piece of equipment. I have been told that they have a 10-year-warrant, which is pretty much unheard of, these days. Furthermore, they seem to be extremely durable.
I have two main gripes with these dumbbells: 1. It's sometimes difficult to select 45 and 50 pounds of weight, while adjusting on a carpet or floor surface. 2. Sometimes, I accidentally insert the pin into more than one slot, or I select more than one weight slot. This is a user error, but still, it is a flaw in these dumbbells.
Aside from these two problems, this is really a great piece of equipment. I personally rate it a 4.5 out of 5 stars. PS: I am a 160 pound man, and have quickly outgrown these dumbbells on some exercises. If you have an extremely strong back, you may want to think about upgrading to something that offers you more weight. While you're here, be sure to check out the rest of the Powerblock Adjustable Dumbbells.
